After six months on the air, Josh Beard and Michael Connor will no longer be heard in middays on ESPN 97.5 in Houston. Assistant Program Director Joe George posted on his X account in response to a listener question about the show, “So here’s the deal. The station had to make some very tough & unfortunate economic decisions last week. It has nothing to do with the quality of their show and work they did. Programming on the station will be weird this week, then back to fully local from 7 am – 6 pm on 2/26.”
Beard was announced as the new host of the show in late August of last year following The Killer B’s moving out of middays and into afternoon drive. Beard had been out of media for four years prior to taking the position with 97.5. He previously had two different runs at SportsRadio 610 as a host, producer and reporter.
Andrew Carlson, the show’s producer, also posted on X saying Friday was his last day with the station. The post notes Carlso had been with the station for 7 years and said his immediate plans include returning to school at the University of Houston.
