77 WABC morning host Sid Rosenberg is filling in during the 10-11 AM hour this week, and he said that spells disaster for crosstown rival 710 WOR and midday host Mark Simone.
While discussing his fill-in spot this week, Rosenberg joked that Simone’s ratings for the week were doomed because of his appearance in the midday timeslot.
“I just want to get a camera right now, or a tape recorder, inside the war room at WOR. Tom Cuddy just walked up to Mark Simone and said ‘Your show starts at 11 today.’ Mark goes, ‘What do you mean?’. And he said ‘Well, they’re keeping Sid on until 11, so no one’s listening to you.’
“I love Mark Simone. I like him, and I am legitimate friends with him,” Sid Rosenberg said before noting that he often has dinner with Simone as part of a larger group. “I like him, but no one is listening to Simone this week. Nobody. You got me from 10 to 11. No one’s leaving this. I got Nancy Mace coming up. I got Lou Dobbs coming up. Got great music. You’re going to laugh. It’s either that or listen to Mark talk about some dinner he had last night with some 93-year-old socialite at the Harvard Club and learn about Kathy Hocul’s prostate.”
Mark Simone hosts his program from 10 AM-Noon on 710 WOR, the iHeartMedia news/talk station in the Big Apple.
