Cumulus Media has flipped 106.1 FM (WRKN) in New Orleans to ‘106.1 The Ticket’ and is airing FOX Sports Radio programming. The signal had previously been home to Cumulus’ Nash Icon format since November, 2018, and was known as “The Gulf South’s Country Station.”
Since signing on in 1991, the signal has been several different formats, including sports from 2012-2015. At that time, the station was a CBS Sports Radio affiliate and aired mostly national programming along with one local show, The Sports Hangover, hosted by Gus Kattengell. That show currently airs on rival sports station ESPN New Orleans (100.3 FM).
FOX Sports Radio features The Dan Patrick Show and The Herd with Colin Cowherd from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET with 2 Pros and a Cup of Joe with LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn and Jonas Knox in mornings and The Doug Gottlieb Show in afternoons.
