Eric Von Haessler: Cable News Election Coverage Will Only Get More Hyperbolic

Reactions continue to come in after media outlets ran with comments claiming former President Donald Trump pitched political violence at a campaign rally. 95.5 WSB host Eric Von Haessler believes we’re only getting started.

While discussing the reaction to Trump saying there would be a “bloodbath” if he wasn’t elected in November, Von Haessler argued it was very simple to decipher what the context behind the quote was. He continued by noting that coverage of both Trump and Biden will only get more sensationalized as the election season continues.

“If you think it was hyperbolic up to now, because now the people have already said, ‘Yeah, as far as the Biden policies go, we maybe we didn’t like January 6,’ or whatever, but as far as Trump policies versus Biden policies, people have made up their minds. So it’s not about policy. Now, it’s just got to be about this guy is going to murder everybody who didn’t vote for him.”

Eric Von Haessler then pointed out his belief that cable news outlets don’t care whether or not they’re sharing accurate information.

“I will say over and over again: I absolutely do not give a damn who you vote for. But if the national media doesn’t understand, or I guess now they just don’t care, about the separation between the people in them. They’ve got their core audience that they’re serving whether you’re MSNBC or Fox or CNN and they just don’t care.”

The 95.5 WSB host then argued that CNN’s Jake Tapper deliberately took Trump’s quotes of context.

“I think he knows what he’s doing and to hell with all of them,” The Von Haessler Doctrine host concluded. “Everyone who works at Fox, everyone who works at CNN, everyone who works at MSNBC, everyone who works at NewsNation, Cheesy (sic), the rest, whoever, to hell with all of you. You’re disgusting human beings.”
