It’s official — Americans just can’t get enough football. So much so that FOX will nationally televise the Ohio State Buckeyes and Michigan Wolverines spring games this coming April.
According to FOX’s Joel Klatt, FOX will broadcast Ohio State’s spring game on Apr. 13, while Michigan’s game will air on Apr. 20. Both games air at 12 p.m. ET.
While the NFL is the ratings king, college football is right behind it in the number two spot. The college football playoffs put up ratings numbers akin to NFL playoff games, last year’s regular season matchup between Michigan and Ohio State shattered records, and even a bowl game between two Top 25 teams on a random afternoon put up numbers ESPN can be proud of.
Broadcast companies know football brings viewers, which is why they’re aiming for football to be a year-round sport. Between the NFL, college football, the UFL, the revival of the Arena Football League, and now spring games, we’re one step closer to nonstop live football on our TVs.
