KFI AM-640 is planning a two-part news special focused on the dangers parents are facing in regard to social media usage by their children.
Sex, Drugs, and Social Media will be hosted by the station’s Steve Gregory and Fox 11’s Araksya Karapetyan, and will be produced by Jacob Gonzalez alongside Richie Quintero.
The two-part special will center on how social media has increased access to drugs, as well as the rise in online harassment and “sextortion” cases.
Guests will include DEA and Homeland Security agents, as well as members of the LA County Sheriff’s Department and its Cyber Crimes Bureau. Additionally, parents of those who have died from fentanyl overdoses will be featured, as will digital wellness advocates.
The specials will be taped before a live studio audience at the iHeartMedia Performance Studio in Burbank.
The first episode of the special airs on KFI AM-640 on Sunday, April 14th at 2 PM, and will focus on sextortion-related topics. Part two will air on Sunday, April 21st at 2 PM, and will be focused on drug-related issues.
The program will be available on the iHeartRadio app, and will also be filmed and available on the station’s YouTube channel.
