Former Iowa State Senator and midday host at 1040 WHO Jeff Angelo is moving to mornings on the Des Moines news/talk station.

The iHeartMedia-owned station made the announcement Tuesday morning. He steps into the timeslot previously helmed by Maxwell Schaeffer and Amy Sweet. The pair began hosting the daypart at the iHeartMedia station in 2021 after the retirement of longtime host Van Harden.

Need to Know with Jeff Angelo was previously heard on 1040 WHO in the 9-11 AM timeslot. He had hosted the daypart in an interim capacity since the departure of Schaeffer and Sweet.
