Rachel DeMita Joins BIG3 Basketball as Courtside Commentator

BIG3 Basketball extended its media rights agreement with CBS Sports ahead of the 2024 basketball season, retaining the sports entity on the broadcast network for a fifth season. Ahead of the start of the year, the league has created a new courtside commentator role for its broadcasts on CBS and live streaming on X. Rachel DeMita, who formerly hosted NBA 2KTV and a podcast with Omaha Productions, will work as the courtside commentator for the 2024 campaign, she announced Monday on X. The position was created specifically for DeMita, and she explained more of what the role encompasses as she revealed the news.

“So what I’ll be doing this summer for the BIG3 is kind of a mix of a sideline reporter position for not only CBS, but also the games that will be live-streamed on X,” DeMita said. “I will also be creating social content with the BIG3.”

DeMita signed a content deal with Overtime in 2018 where she collaborated on new programs and live coverage for the sports media outlet. Over the years, she has worked in a variety of different roles with companies including Whistle Sports, Meta and Adidas. DeMita recently hosted the Courtside Club podcast with Rain Delay Media after it initially started as a part of Omaha Productions. Before beginning her career as a host, she was a college basketball player at Old Dominion University. DeMita will now embark on this new role with BIG3 Basketball as the 3-on-3 league continues to grow around the United States.

“I feel like for my entire career, I’ve never really been the traditional reporter type, and so I’m hoping to bring just some of my authenticity and how I host and my style of hosting to the BIG3,” DeMita explained, “and with that being said you guys, we are in a new city every single week. If you guys are in any of those cities, definitely come out, come say what’s up. I will be on the sidelines, I will be doing social content, hanging out with fans as well, so make sure that you guys come say hi, come to the games; they’re going to be so much fun.”
