77 WABC earned five Excellence in Broadcasting Awards from the New York State Broadcasters Association in the latest awards ceremony.
“When I bought WABC Radio, I said we were going to do things differently,” said 77 WABC owner John Catsimatidis. “We were going to tell the truth, and we were going to have fun. We have achieved both. I want to thank the New York State Broadcasters for this recognition.”

The station won Excellence in Broadcasting awards in the following categories:
- The News of the Day – Best Regularly Scheduled Newscast
- James Golden aka Bo Snerdley – Best Editorial/Commentary
- Back the Blue –A Tribute to the NYPD – Best Live On Scene
- Curtis Sliwa on Instagram – Best Use of Digital Platforms
- WABC Trolley and Broadcast From Columbus Day Parade – Best Live Local Coverage – Streaming on Social Media
