On Monday morning, CNN This Morning host Kasie Hunt ended an interview with national press secretary for former President Donald Trump Karoline Leavitt after the guest turned questions about Thursday’s debate into attacks on CNN moderator Jake Tapper.
“Ma’am, we’re going to stop this interview if you’re going to keep attacking my colleagues,” Hunt said as the pair talked over one another.
After Leavitt said that she was “stating facts” by mentioning that CNN has been biased in its coverage of Trump, especially from Tapper, Hunt ended the interview.
“I’m sorry … Karoline, thanks very much for your time. You are welcome to come back at any point,” said Hunt.
The clip quickly went viral, with many news radio hosts commenting about the interaction. Several shared their belief that what Leavitt said was true, while others argued it was just a precursor to what we’ll see during Thursday’s first presidential debate.
