Parkersburg, West Virginia is about to lose a news/talk station as Seven Mountains Media has made plans to flip WVNT away from the format.
WVNT carried regional programming from the Metronews network in West Virginia, while also airing nationally syndicated shows hosted by Dan Bongino, Ben Shapiro, Mark Levin, and Dave Ramsey.
The station becomes the latest station acquired by Seven Mountains Media to flip away from news/talk and take on a different brand and format.
A report from RadioInsight claims the station’s call letters will change from WVNT to WPKB, and will feature a CHR format branded as Pop 103.5. The news/talk station was also heard on 1230 AM.
The Parkersburg market continues to be served by iHeartMedia-owned 910 WLTP in Marietta, Ohio, which, like WVNT, airs a mostly syndicated lineup.
