At the end of March, in a round of iHeartMedia layoffs, Jim Moore was let go by KJR in Seattle. As it turned out, that didn’t sit well with Moore’s partner Jason Puckett who had just negotiated a new contract with the station and so he walked. Shortly thereafter he launched PuckSports.com and new digital content including a ‘Daily Puck Drop’ show. Jim Moore will now join him on that podcast three days a week.
Moore posted on his X account, “Severance and non-compete clause ended June 30th so joining [Puck] on his podcast at PuckSports.com on Monday. Looking forward to it. Hope you’ll check it out. Puck’s been great to me, just want to help him out if I can.”
In a video that accompanies the post, Moore clarified he won’t just be coming on the show on Monday saying, “The big news, semi-big news, medium news, small news, maybe miniscule news…I’m coming back to PuckSports.com joining Jason Puckett on his podcast Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
“His idea to have me work three days a week. He probably figured I was so burnt out that’s all I could handle anymore, or he was sick of working with me for five days a week, so he wanted to take me in a small dose. And so, it’s going to be Monday, Wednesday, Friday.
On his most recent podcast, Puckett said, “I can’t wait for it, because his purgatory time is up. You guys have asked for it. We have found him somewhere surviving in Bend, Oregon and if we can pull Jim Moore away from his morning routine of walking his dog…the go to guy will be back with us on Monday for the Daily Puck Drop…we return, we reunite together.”
As far as the three days per week, Puckett quipped, “If that senior citizen can maybe survive and work a little bit more than three days a week, maybe we will add a few more. I’m excited to have him back…I miss him dearly. I just miss bantering and having a fun time with him. We probably have a lot to go over on Monday.”
Moore also said in part on his video, “We’ll see how it goes…I’ve got no reason to be filtered with anything anymore, so I’ll let everybody have it.”
