TNT Sports has announced that it will be expanding its lineup of sports programming airing on truTV this fall. The sports division of Warner Bros. Discovery unveiled a lineup of shows this year that complemented its properties, including the National Basketball Association, National Hockey League and Major League Baseball. Beginning this October starting at 6 p.m. EST, TNT Sports will also implement its branding and graphics within the prime-time television programming lineup on the channel. In 2025, content on truTV will continue to expand as new media rights agreements with NASCAR, the French Open (Roland-Garros) and the Big East Conference are set to begin.
TNT Sports programming airing on truTV will include NASCAR practice and qualifying rounds, along with coverage of the French Open and Big East Conference basketball. While these properties will begin next year, Mountain West Conference football will commence this fall concurrent with coverage of NBA, NHL and MLB in addition to the U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Soccer Team, MotoGP and Bellator MMA. Nightly programs including TNT Sports Tonight and The Line, along with unscripted competition shows such as Wipeout, featured sports movies, documentaries and scripted series, will be on the air in addition to other programming.
“We’re very pleased with the early launch of the TNT Sports programming block on truTV and will expand our commitment to bolstering the dedicated primetime sports lineup this Fall,” Craig Barry, executive vice president and chief content officer of TNT Sports, said in a statement. “Just as Adult Swim takes over for a different audience at night from Cartoon Network, we aspire for TNT Sports on truTV to be a go-to destination for a dynamic range of fans seeking not only more premium sports, but also alternate ways to experience and enjoy them, along with additional culturally relevant and entertaining sports content.”
truTV started hosting TNT Sports prime time programming in March, which featured programs leveraging the properties within the Warner Bros. Discovery portfolio. For example, in-season episodes of The Steam Room vodcast and Shaqtin’ a Fool were aired on the network, along with a new weekly House of Highlights show created for truTV. A live, daily 30-minute news and updates show titled TNT Sports Update was also part of the original lineup, along with select alternate presentations for live games produced by the company.
TNT Sports will televise approximately 1,000 hours of sports programming on truTV in 2024 and plans to increase the total quantity next year. Additional programming airing on truTV from TNT Sports is going to be announced in the months ahead.
