Rick McNeal, co-host of the “Rick & Cutter Show” on Woodward Communications Classic Rock WAPL/Appleton, WI., is leaving the show after four decades.
A joint statement released on WAPL’s Facebook page read, “Hey folks, it’s with heavy hearts that we announce some tough news. We had exciting plans to celebrate Rick’s retirement and honor his remarkable 39-year career of entertaining Northeast Wisconsin at WAPL. Unfortunately, due to his ongoing health issues following the WAPL ‘International Incident’ in early March, Rick is now stepping away.”
“International Incident” refers to the station’s annual listener trip. McNeal has been on medical leave for the past four months.
The station encourages everyone to send cards and correspondence to Rick McNeal, WAPL, P.O. Box 1519, Appleton, WI. 54912. You can hear McNeal’s goodbye message here.
