The Republican National Convention reached its second day on Tuesday, with a lineup of former contenders for the party’s presidential nomination taking the stage in Milwaukee.

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) spoke in primetime at the convention. He earned boisterous applause while declaring that “America cannot afford four more years of a Weekend at Bernie’s presidency,” alluding to the growing sentiment in political circles that President Joe Biden is mentally unfit for office.

After his speech, many conservative media members praised his comments, with some calling it the best speech he’s given in recent months.

Former South Carolina Governor and UN Ambassador Nikki Haley — who was the last standing challenger to Trump in the Republican primary — spoke before DeSantis, and reaction was mixed from many conservative pundits.

However, she received rousing applause when, at the beginning of her speech, she shared “I will start by making one thing perfectly clear: Donald Trump has my strong endorsement, period … For the sake of our nation, we have to go with Donald Trump,” Haley said. “I’m here tonight because we have a country to save.”

Previously, she had been hesitant to pledge her support to Trump near the conclusion of her Presidential campaign.

Ohio businessman and Republican primary contender Vivek Ramaswamy also spoke on the main stage Tuesday evening. Several news media members opined about his speech, with some going as far as to call for a cabinet position should Trump win the 2024 election.

Also speaking at the Republican National Convention Tuesday were Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R-AR), Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), prison reform activist Madeline Brame, and Anne Fundner, the mother of a fentanyl overdose victim.
