WWJ Newsradio 950 has announced two new hires to the Audacy Detroit all-news station, as Tim Pamplin and Darrylin Horne join the outlet.
Pamplin joins the station after spending nearly 30 years at WDIV-TV in the Motor City. He departed the station earlier this year after winning several Emmy Awards and a pair of regional Edward R. Murrow Awards during his tenure.
“My childhood dream was always to be a TV cameraman or radio reporter,” said Pamplin. “After 30-plus years on the streets for WDIV-TV as an evening cameraman, my move to WWJ Newsradio 950 is nothing but a dream come true.”
Horne also has a television background. She previously worked as a producer at a station in Lansing, while also serving as a director at FOX 2 in Detroit. She has been at WWJ since 2021 in a part-time capacity, before being elevated to a full-time reporter.
“I’m so grateful to continue my journey here at WWJ Newsradio 950,” Horne said. “This newsroom has allowed me to take on a variety of stories that have diversified my professional experience, and I can’t wait to continue that growth in this next chapter.”
“We couldn’t be more excited for Tim to join our news team. We plan to leverage his renowned breaking news reports to provide our listeners with quality coverage of each day’s top stories,” added Audacy Detroit Market Manager Debbie Kenyon. “We’re also looking forward to supporting Darrylin in this new role as she applies her skillful storytelling in everything from feature stories to contributions on our digital platforms.”
