Tennessee Titans training camp and 104.5 The Zone were in the news this week for all of the wrong reasons.
Yesterday, as The Buck Reising Show was broadcasting live on site, host Buck Reising was verbally confronted by Titans defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons, part of which was captured live on the radio station. A video of the incident was posted on social media, where you can hear Simmons, off-camera, yelling and cursing at Reising.
Today, the two spoke and worked out their issues. Reising responded to a social media post where a picture had been taken of two men talking and wrote, “Had a great chat with Jeff. All good on both sides. Enough with the side shows. Play ball.”
Simmons spoke to reporters and addressed what had happened and took responsibility.
“We all know what happened yesterday,” he said. “A lot of y’all have been here since I’ve been here, so y’all know me. That’s not who I am. That’s not who I want to be seen as. I talked to Buck, and we have an understanding…If you have a job, I have a job. At the end of the day, I take full accountability of my actions on the field. I mean, that’ll never happen again with me…And to all you guys, like I said, I apologize. And not because it hit social media, but it’s because who I am. That’s not my character…I’m ready to move forward.
“Being a leader, you have to point the finger to yourself first…I’m ready to focus on football. I just want to win. Like I said, I’m not with all the social media stuff…Like I said, yesterday, it’s unacceptable. Came back to practice today and I had a great day.”
