Erick Erickson hosted his annual conservative convention, The Gathering, in Atlanta last weekend. Next year, he plans to hit the road with the event.
At the conclusion of his event — that featured the likes of former Vice President Mike Pence, Govs. Brian Kemp (R-GA), Ron DeSantis (R-FL), Kevin Stitt (R-OK), and Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), among others — Erickson shared plans to take the convention to cities where The Erick Erickson Show is heard around the nation.
Pleased to announce that next year, we’ll take The Gathering on the road,” Erickson wrote in a post on social media. “This year, we had people come from across the country to Atlanta. Next year, we’ll go into our major radio markets nationally, going to our audience instead of the audience coming to us.”
The Erick Erickson Show is currently heard in markets like Charlotte, Hartford, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Orlando, Phoenix, St. Louis, Tulsa, and West Palm Beach, among others.
Erickson added that sponsors of the event, which saw several hundred attendees over more than two days in Metro Atlanta, are in lock-step with the move to other locales.
“Our sponsors have already agreed to help us take The Gathering into our radio markets,” he shared. “Since so many radio stations now have limited promotions budgets, we’ll do all the work to get the venue, speakers, and attendees, and let each market find a local sponsor as their own revenue opportunity.”
