Audacy Hit With $14,000 Fine From FCC

The FCC has fined Audacy $14,000 for national contest violations. The contest involved a cash giveaway that ran on 194 of the company’s stations in March and April 2021.

Following a complaint and investigation, the FCC found that the stations were supposed to award 297 $1000 prizes. Findings indicated that a part-time employee who was to select winners at random failed to do so.

Further findings indicated that the employee’s supervisor failed to provide proper oversight.
