ESPN has signed sports betting analyst Pamela Maldonado to a contract ahead of the beginning of the football season. Maldonado will work on ESPN sports betting coverage throughout the college football season, utilizing a penchant for advanced analytics and comprehensive understanding of the game to provide viewers with insights into the paradigm. Additionally, she will bring her thoughts and analysis surrounding NFL, golf and tennis, primarily for betting editorial coverage within the ESPN.com vertical.
“I am excited to bring my love of college football and other sports to ESPN,” Maldonado said in a statement. “I am even more excited to educate and provide analysis by way of sports betting. As they say, chance favors the prepared mind.”
Maldonado started her career in the media business working at PokerNews in a contributor and editorial writer role. After nearly three years with the company, she joined iBus Media where she managed social media and email marketing endeavors within the brand. Over the last several years, she has performed sports betting analysis for a variety of entities, including VSiN, Audacy and Tennis Channel while working full time as a content creator and betting analyst for Yahoo Sports. Maldonado joins an expanding roster of sports betting personalities at ESPN, including Joe Fortenbaugh, Erin Dolan, David Purdum, Steve Coughlin and Anita Marks.
“Pamela has established herself as a respected voice in the sports betting space, and will provide great insight and depth to our overall sports betting coverage,” Scott Clark, vice president of fantasy and betting content at ESPN, said in a statement. “Pamela has extensive betting experience across many sports, including football, and the timing is perfect as we gear up for the college football and NFL season.”
ESPN continues to expand its coverage of sports betting in conjunction with the operation of ESPN BET by PENN Entertainment under a 10-year contract. The network rebranded its sports betting studio show to ESPN BET Live last November and has also included its talent within several commercials for the sportsbook.
