Dave Ramsey: No Matter How Many Critics The Ramsey Show Has, ‘I’m Going to Be Me’

"We help anybody. We love everybody. We're not mad about it, but you don't get to tell me who I am. And I'm not going to tell you who you are."

Dave Ramsey hosts one of the biggest radio shows in America with The Ramsey Show. And he believes he can only be his authentic self during the show.

Ramsey was asked by an entrepreneur how they can put their own personal faith into their business, noting their belief that the Ramsey Solutions founder has done a great job of that. The business owner was worried about offending potential customers, which Ramsey shared was impossible to avoid in 2024.

“If you walk around and you breathe, some moron’s going to be offended,” said Ramsey. “Count on that. Just by walking around and breathing, so you don’t have to enter politics or religion to piss people off. You can do it without that. So, if you throw that in there, you can really get them going.”

Dave Ramsey continued by noting accepting that fact was something he accomplished early on.

“I accept the fact I’m going to be me, and I’m still legally, morally and culturally allowed to be me,” the host said. “Then, as a customer or a person in the marketplace, a vendor, you have the right to not do business with me because you don’t like who I am. You have that right. And some people choose that. ‘I’ll never do business with that Dave Ramsey. He gets the Bible out.’ Ok. You can, because I’m going to get it out. That’s part of it. I get it. I’m sorry. I wish you wouldn’t be that way, but apparently your momma didn’t raise you right.

“So I’m going to be me now. I’m a person of faith, and I can talk about the fact that I’m a person of faith, and I can do that without making you do anything. Now, if you’re an immature person and you want to be offended by the fact that I have a personal faith in Jesus, and if you want to be mad about that, then that’s not my problem,” Dave Ramsey continued. “That’s your problem. And where people mess up on this is they feel like they have to go tell other people what to do … We help anybody. We love everybody. We’re not mad about it, but you don’t get to tell me who I am. And I’m not going to tell you who you are.”
