Nashville Songwriters Hall Of Fame Announces 2024 Inductees

This year's class includes David Bellamy, Al Anderson, Liz Rose, Dan Penn, and Victoria Shaw.

The 2024 inductees for the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame (NaSHOF) have been announced, and they will be joining the prestigious group in November. This year’s class includes David Bellamy, Al Anderson, Liz Rose, Dan Penn, and Victoria Shaw.

Despite being the highest-voted contemporary songwriter/artist, Brad Paisley cannot attend the ceremony due to a conflicting schedule. He will officially join the 2025 class as an inductee next year.

Rich Hallworth, the NaSHOF Board of Directors Chair, and Mark Ford, the organization’s Executive Director, announced the new members today (Aug. 15) during a luncheon at Nashville‘s Columbia Studio A, which is located within Belmont University’s Mike Curb College of Entertainment & Music Business.

Anderson and Rose will be recognized for their contributions to Contemporary Songwriting. Penn and Shaw will be inducted as Veteran Songwriters. Bellamy will join them in the Veteran Songwriter/Artist category. They will join 241 previous members when they are formally inducted at the 54th Anniversary Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Gala on Wednesday, Nov. 6, held at the Music City Center.

Among Anderson’s many songwriting accomplishments are “Trip Around The Sun” by Jimmy Buffett & Martina McBride, “Unbelievable” by Diamond Rio, and “The Cowboy In Me” by Tim McGraw.

Rose’s collection of songs includes “White Horse” by Taylor Swift, “Crazy Girl” by Eli Young Band, and “Girl Crush” by Little Big Town. Some of Penn’s most notable hits include “Do Right Woman, Do Right Man” by Aretha Franklin, “The Dark End Of The Street” by James Carr, and “I’m Your Puppet” by James & Bobby Purify.

Shaw is recognized for his contributions to popular songs such as “The River” by Garth Brooks, “I Love The Way You Love Me” by John Michael Montgomery, and “Nobody Wants To Be Lonely” by Ricky Martin & Christina Aguilera.

As a member of the Bellamy Brothers, Bellamy has recorded several of his own compositions, including hits like “If I Said You Have A Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me),” “Old Hippie,” and “Crazy From The Heart.”

Hallworth said, “Gathering for this occasion—to recognize and welcome the members of our incoming class—is always one of the highlights of our year. To this stellar group of songwriters, we say thank you for your songs and your artistry. You are exceptional talents, and we will proudly honor you this fall, when you officially join your legendary peers in the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.”
