Rocker and Radio Host Greg Kihn Dies At Age 75

Greg Kihn, known for his popular 80s hits Jeopardy and The Breakup Song, has died.

Kihn was 75 and suffered from Alzheimer’s disease. He was born in Baltimore and was known to have helped define the musical legacy of the San Francisco Bay Area.

Original MTV VJ Martha Quinn wrote on X, “If you are an early MTV’er, certain artists live in our hearts from those days. @gregkihn is one. Greg passed away on Tuesday at 75 after a battle with Alzheimer’s. My condolences go out to his loved ones, and thank you, Greg, for the Rock KIHN Roll.”

A former Morning Radio host for The South Bay’s Classic Rock KFOX for 17 years and a syndicated nighttime radio host across the country, Greg related to and captivated his audiences with real-world issues and hysterical tales from his Rock-Star escapades.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Greg Kihn’s name to The Alzheimer’s Association to help end Alzheimer’s Disease.

Greg is survived by his wife Jay, son Ryan, and daughter Alexis. A public celebration of life concert for fans and fellow musicians will be announced in the near future. Stay tuned to GregKihn.com for further details.
