610 WIOD in Miami has added The Ryan Gorman Show as its new morning drive show, replacing Andrew Colton in the daypart.
Gorman’s show originates from WIOD’s iHeartMedia sister station Newsradio WFLA in Tampa. The show is heard from 5-9 AM, with the 6-9 AM portion airing on 610 WIOD.
Before joining WFLA in 2018, Ryan Gorman had worked as a fill-in host at WIOD in Miami. Gorman is joined on the show by executive producer and co-host Dana McKay.
The timeslot was previously hosted by Colton since November 2022. However, he departed the role to focus on his BocaNewsNew.com endeavor, according to RadioInsight. He wrote on the website that part of the reason for his departure was the uncertainty around the future of AM radio
“As lawmakers continue to battle the future of AM radio, and whether automakers should be forced to utilize an aging technology, I came to the conclusion that my time is best spent on my growing media operations. I ended my hosting experience last week,” Colton wrote.
