70% of Radio Listeners Actively Seek Out Election Information, New Audacy Study Shows

Among the respondents, 68% identified as moderates or centrists on social issues.

As the 2024 election approaches, many radio listeners are looking for information on the race for the White House. A new study from Audacy shows just how many are interested.

A new study from the radio giant reveals that 70% of weekly AM/FM radio listeners are actively tuning for election news on the radio. Additionally, 80% of weekly radio listeners who listen via station streaming apps and platforms responded similarly.

Of those surveyed, 74% shared that local radio helps them understand election results within their communities. Almost half of the respondents — 46% — said they have been following election news closely for more than three months.

According to figures from the data collected by Audacy, 38% of women say they are now more motivated to vote after Kamala Harris was named the Democratic nominee. 30% of men responded with the same answer.

44% of women said they were as motivated to vote as they were before the change at the top of the ticket, with 58% of men saying the same.
