Randy Michaels is back in Cincinnati Radio with his company’s purchase of Spanish Top 40 WOXY Mega 97.7/Mason, OH.
Michael’s Radioactive LLC is paying Lazo Media $1.8 million for the station, which covers suburban areas between Cincinnati and Dayton.
Earlier in his career, Michaels programmed Top 40 WKRQ (Q102) and 800 WLW in Cincinnati. His long and sometimes controversial career includes a run as Chairman/CEO of Clear Channel and later CEO of LocalTV LLC, Tribune Broadcasting, and Merlin Media.
WOXY had a 21-year run in the Alternative format as 97X and was immortalized in the movie “Rain Man.” There is no word yet on plans for the station or format.
