Donald Trump Reaffirms Commitment to ABC News Debate After Agreeing to Same Rules as CNN Event

Additionally, the Republican nominee stated he is leaving the September 4th date proposed by Fox News for an additional debate with Harris open should she change her mind.

Earlier this year, Donald Trump debated President Joe Biden in an event hosted by CNN. Trump must have enjoyed the rules because he has agreed to the same set in his debate against Kamala Harris with ABC News.

In a post to social media, the Republican nominee shared that after questioning whether or not he should continue to participate in the debate with ABC News, he will in fact be present at the event in Philadelphia on September 10th.

“I have reached an agreement with the Radical Left Democrats for a Debate with Comrade Kamala Harris,” Trump wrote. “It will be Broadcast Live on ABC FAKE NEWS, by far the nastiest and most unfair newscaster in the business…”

He continued by noting that the event with Harris will feature the same rules as the CNN event in June. Trump noted that those rules — which included the microphone of the candidate not speaking being muted, no prepared notes, and no conversing with campaign staffers during the commercial breaks — “seemed to work out well for everyone except” President Biden, who left the race for the White House after his performance during the event.

Additionally, the Republican nominee stated he is leaving the September 4th date proposed by Fox News for an additional debate with Harris open should she change her mind. He added that a “possible third Debate, which would go to NBC FAKE NEWS, has not been agreed to by the Radical Left.”
