Fox News has been a cable news ratings juggernaut, and it was no different in August as Jesse Watters Primetime and The Five led the network to ratings wins.
The network remained the most-watched network in all of cable during the month, and led total day and primetime viewers. The only sector Fox News didn’t win was the Adults 25-54 demographic, which USA Network — featuring broad swaths of coverage from the 2024 Paris Olympics — led for the month.
The Five took home the number one spot in all of cable news. The program featured an average of 3.3 million viewers during the month.
Nipping at that show’s heels was Jesse Watters Primetime. Airing in the 8 PM ET timeslot, the show earned an average audience of 3 million.
Despite MSNBC leading coverage of the Democratic National Convention by a wide margin, Fox News led post-convention coverage with it’s Gutfeld! late-night show. During the week of the convention, the program averaged 1.65 million viewers, besting CBS, ABC, and NBC’s programs in the same category.
The network’s success wasn’t contained to just weekdays and primetime. Mark Levin’s Life, Liberty and Levin on Sundays averaged 1.7 million viewers, as did Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo. Those programs each were the top-rated shows during their dayparts.
