Ben Shapiro: CNN Anchor Dana Bash ‘Is Not Exactly an Objective Interviewer’

"There's a reason they're not going with Lester Holt. There's a reason they're not going with Jake Tapper."

All eyes of the political world will be on CNN Thursday evening as anchor Dana Bash sits down with Vice President Kamala Harris and running mate Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) for their first interview together. Ben Shapiro says there’s a reason the interview is with Bash.

During The Ben Shapiro Show, The Daily Wire co-founder argued that Bash wasn’t selected to host the first sit-down with the Democratic duo because she’d be a stern and difficult interview. In fact, he suggested the contrary.

“Dana Bash is not exactly an objective interviewer. There’s a reason they’re not going with Lester Holt. There’s a reason they’re not going with Jake Tapper. Dana Bash is, in fact, more of a partisan Democrat. She always has been.”

In a social media post, Shapiro called Bash a “sycophantic” interviewer.

Ben Shapiro also took issue with the fact that the interview — which is scheduled to air at 9 PM ET — is pre-taped. “Which means that, presumably, the Harris-Walz campaign can exert pressure on CNN to chop out things that make her look bad. Pathetic. But exactly what you would predict.”

The Ben Shapiro Show host’s comments about Dana Bash come after she and CNN anchor Jake Tapper earned widespread praise for their performance of the June CNN debate between President Joe Biden and Republican nominee Donald Trump. Many, even in conservative media, had high remarks for the duo’s job on pressing each candidate, with many saying they were incorrect about their notions on the pair in the lead-up to the event.
