The eyes of the news media world will be on CNN Thursday as Dana Bash conducts an interview with the Democratic presidential ticket of Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN). KFI AM-640 morning host Bill Handel believes it’s clear CNN is biased, but isn’t to the same level as MSNBC, Fox News, or Newsmax.
While discussing the hotly anticipated interview during his “Handel on the News” segment Thursday, Handel noted that while the conversation will be edited, he didn’t believe the subject matter would be changed.
“CNN isn’t going to edit it in favor or against Harris. It’ll be edited just for, I think, the purposes of the broadcasting,” he argued. “Unless she says something that is just totally outrageous, that’ll be covered no matter what.”
Bill Handel then shared his belief that it’s obvious the network is biased, but it doesn’t reach the level of its cable news competitors.
“CNN is biased. There is no question CNN is biased. They have a biased spin towards Kamala Harris,” Handel stated. “Not as much as Fox is biased the other way. I think they are the champions on that one. CNN is not as biased as MSNBC, Fox News is not as biased as Newsmax. When you get to Newsmax, you are going into the area of crazy. MSNBC is just insanely liberal. So, we’ll see which way CNN spins it.”
Handel did joke that while the interview was scheduled for 4 PM ET, the Harris campaign “is going to show up at three o’clock to set up the teleprompter so she can answer the question spontaneously,” he said with a chuckle.
“I cannot wait to hear this interview,” he added. The interview is scheduled to be televised at 9 PM ET Thursday.
