Howard University’s Adult R&B WHUR/Washington DC has added “The Nina Brown and Joe Clair Afternoon Show.”
It replaces “The Frank Ski Show” which the station dropped at the end of July.
Brown had been co-host of the Ski show until her recent departure (BMM 8/28).
Clair hosted mornings on Audacy Hip Hop 95.5 WPGC/Washington, DC, from 2015 until departing in June 2021. Before that, he co-hosted afternoons with Frank Ski at WHUR. Clair has also been part of the syndicated Russ Parr Morning Show and held positions at WQHT New York, WVEE Atlanta, and SiriusXM’s Foxxhole. In addition to his radio work, Clair is a stand-up comedian, actor, and television host, including a stint hosting BET’s “Rap City” from 1994 to 1999.
Al Payne, WHUR Senior Director of Programming, said, “Joe and Nina epitomize the next chapter in WHUR’s unwavering commitment to serving the DMV community. Joe Clair, a cultural icon from his days on BET’s ‘Rap City’ to his acclaimed stand-up comedy and now his show on Fox5, teams up with Nina Brown’s broadcasting talent, charisma, and passion. Together, they bring the perfect mix for radio success.”
