After 35 years Connoisseur Media has ended the run of WFOX (95.9 The Fox)/Southport, CT. The frequency will now simulcast News/Talk 600/107.3 WICC/Bridgeport, CT.
In the week leading up to and through Labor Day, WFOX aired a “History of Alternative Rock” feature. WFOX personalities all held other positions with the company and will continue in those roles.
On weekdays, WICC airs primarily local programming from 5 am to 7 pm. This includes Melissa Sheketoff’s morning show, Lisa Wexler’s midday program from 10 am to 12 pm, and “CT Today with Paul Pacelli” from 2 pm to 6 pm. The 6 pm hour features the best segments from Sheketoff and Wexler’s shows.
The station has added CBS News at the top of the hour.
The new 95.9 FM signal will broadcast WICC’s programming across a wider area of Fairfield County, extending from the New York state line through Greenwich, Stamford, Norwalk, and Bridgeport.
