Kristen Welker has been hosting the NBC News Sunday political affairs program Meet the Press for one full year, and for the first time, the network has eclipsed ABC News in a key aspect.
On Sunday, Meet the Press eclipsed This Week with George Stephanopoulos in the Adults 25-54 demographic. 460,000 viewers watched the program helmed by Welker on September 22nd. The program featured exclusive interviews with Sens. John Fetterman (D-PA) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC). ABC News earned 453,000 viewers for its Sunday show.
The win in the demographic was the first time since Kristen Welker began hosting the program in September 2023 that the show had won that demographic. It was also the first time NBC News took home the top spot for the first time since the 2020-2021 season. An additional 140,000 viewers watched the show on YouTube.
In total viewers, however, the show hosted by Stephanopoulos won with 2.6 million viewers. Face the Nation from CBS News was right behind with 2.5 million viewers. Meet the Press was at 2.3 million viewers.
