ESPN and WNBA Average Nearly 1 Million Viewers in Playoff Game Without Caitlin Clark

The previous high was for a Western Conference Finals game in 1999.

It has been a record-breaking year all around for the WNBA with the addition of Caitlin Clark and a very talented rookie class. Clark’s first playoff game drew an average of 1.8 million viewers to ABC on a day they were going up against NFL football. Now, the league has aired another playoff game on ESPN that averaged just under 1 million viewers that did not feature Clark and the Indiana Fever.

This game featured the Seattle Storm and the Las Vegas Aces and Jon Lewis of Sports Media Watch reports the viewership gives the league its second highest viewership for a playoff game and the top one that didn’t have Clark playing. The previous high was for a Western Conference Finals game in 1999.
