Pam Oliver has been a prominent figure for NFL coverage on FOX Sports since it debuted in the mid-1990s. The San Francisco 49ers honored her three-decade commitment on Sunday.
During the network’s coverage of the San Francisco 49ers game against the New England Patriots, the broadcast took a moment in the third quarter to honor Oliver for her 30 years of coverage with the network. San Francisco 49ers General Manager John Lynch worked for FOX Sports as a broadcast analyst from 2008 until joining the 49ers in 2017.
In a vignette, FOX Sports showed Oliver being given a game ball for her long work with the network before giving her a moment to express her gratitude.
“I appreciate this so much,” Oliver said. “I love working with you guys and the many crews I’ve worked with over the years. I’m not dead yet but I am having a great time. I appreciate it, you guys.”
NFL on FOX play-by-play announcer Joe Davis joked with Pam Oliver that when she got a ball for her 500th broadcast, she said she’d announce 500 more. “We’re holding you to that,” he said.
Davis and partner Greg Olsen — who, along with Oliver, make up the second NFL booth for FOX Sports — commended Oliver for her long career.
“It’s a treat for both of us, I know, to work with Pam every week,” Davis said. “She is a legend in this business and I learn from her every single week. Watching the way she works, watching the great questions that she asks at meetings,” he concluded before Olsen asked if the duo was Oliver’s favorite she’s worked with in her 30 years. She laughed as she affirmed that, indeed, they were.
