Friday night college football continues to draw a large audience on FOX. This week’s game turned out to be a blowout as No. 6 Oregon had a 24-0 lead on Michigan State and ended up winning 31-10. The game drew an average audience of 2.842 million viewers for ‘FOX College Football Friday.’
FOX Sports says the game peaked at 3.568 million viewers and was the most-watched telecast of the day in the A18-49 demographic.
This weekend FOX will feature Northwestern at Maryland followed by Oregon at Purdue. The month will close out Friday Oct. 25 with Rutgers at USC, which will take place after Game 1 of the World Series.
This is the first year for the FOX Sports special package of Friday night games. The primetime slot features games from the Big Ten, Big 12 and Mountain West conferences throughout the season.
When the package was announced, Michael Mulvihill, President, Insight and Analytics, FOX Corporation said in a release, “FOX is football, and our new Friday night package will make FOX the leader in America’s game throughout the weekend. We’ve built our collegiate business by seizing opportunities in previously underutilized timeslots, first with Big Noon Saturday and now on Friday nights. Our goal this fall is to have the No. 1 college football game on both Fridays and Saturdays and the top NFL game on Sundays.”
