North Carolina musicians James Taylor, Luke Combs, and Eric Church, along with guitarist Billy Strings, will headline the “Concert for Carolina” on October 26 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte to raise funds for hurricane Helene relief efforts in the state, according to the event organizers.
Explore Asheville, the city’s tourism organization, and the Tourism Development Authority have collectively pledged $1 million as presenting sponsors, according to Vic Isley, the organization’s President and CEO.
“This concert took so much planning, work, and coordination from so many people. I’m so thankful to everyone who helped make this a possibility on such short notice,” Combs posted online.
In the wake of Hurricane Helene’s impact, additional concerts and fundraisers have emerged across the state to support the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund, including a benefit concert featuring Sturgill Simpson, scheduled for October 21st at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary. This concert replaces Simpson’s previously canceled Asheville performance, which had been planned for the same date before being called off due to the hurricane.
Eric Church included the announcement on his Facebook page.
