Many areas of the Southeast are still dealing with the after effects of Hurricane Helene. MSNBC host Joe Scarborough just wants the truth to come out, though.
Reports from the area that have been amplified by conservative influences on social media have made assertations that there has been a complete lack of government response and that citizens have had supplies withheld from them.
During Morning Joe on Monday, the longtime MSNBC morning show host argued that cable news channels have also pushed narratives surrounding the response that he believes aren’t true.
“(Donald) Trump and (JD) Vance lying about people of Ohio eating dogs and cats. You have the Republican Governor of Ohio, lifelong Republican, telling them to stop. That it is a lie,” said Scarborough. “Now, the people of the Carolinas are suffering in a way that only those who have gone through tragic hurricanes, like Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Camille, and now this hurricane, could imagine.
“Donald Trump, JD Vance, Eric Trump, everyone else in the Republican party, entire news channels out and out lying about what’s going on on the ground there … It’s staggering, just staggering.”
Scarborough did not name any particular news networks by name, but in recent years has not been shy to criticize Fox News for its coverage since Trump rose to political prominence.
