Less than a year after launching, The Ticket 106.1 in New Orleans has landed its first play-by-play partnership. It will become the new radio flagship of the Tulane Green Wave athletic department.
Cumulus Media launched the sports station in March with the majority of programming coming from Fox Sports Radio.
Both football and men’s basketball radio broadcasts will be heard on the new sports station.
“When you think of college athletics in New Orleans you think of Tulane. We are ecstatic to be the home of Green Wave Football and Men’s Basketball,” said Cumulus Media New Orleans Regional Vice President and Market Manager Pat Galloway.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Cumulus Media New Orleans, The Ticket 106.1 FM and Heaven 106.7 for the balance of this football season along with the upcoming men’s basketball season,” Tulane Director of Athletics David Harris said. “Our fans always show great passion following Tulane over the airwaves and this relationship only enhances their ability to do just that.”
Corey Gloor will remain the Voice of the Green Wave with the move. He will continue to be joined in the radio booth by Steve Barrios. Maddy Hudak will continue covering the sidelines for football broadcasts.
“We take great pride in providing quality radio broadcasts for our Green Wave faithful and are excited to work with Cumulus Media to deliver on that objective,” Gloor said. “Steve, Maddy, and I look forward to continue bringing Tulane sports to life on air in this new era on The Ticket 106.1.”
The transition to The Ticket 106.1 will be completed by this weekend when the Green Wave plays Rice. Tulane baseball and women’s basketball broadcasts will remain on WRBH 88.3.
