Dateline NBC has become a podcast juggernaut for NBC News. Now, the show’s Keith Morrison is launching a new limited podcast series.
The Man in the Black Mask will be a six-part series that examines a case “that blurs the line between make-believe and murder,” the network says.
“Morrison takes listeners through the mysterious world of illusion, fantasy, and deception as he reports on a rising young director working on a horror film about a serial killer in a hockey mask,” promotional materials for the NBC News podcast say. “But when a man disappears near the movie set, authorities are left wondering: Was this a case of life imitating art? Or was something else afoot?”
The first two episodes will be released on Monday, October 15th. The series will release two episodes per week in subsequent weeks. However, Dateline Premium subscribers will be granted early access to the first two episodes beginning today.
Dateline NBC is the top true crime podcast in the country, according to the latest rankings from Podtrac. In September, the show was the fourth U.S. Unique Monthly Audience rankings.
