Cumulus Media’s 96.7 The Ticket in Dallas took home one of the biggest prizes of the night at the 2024 Marconi Awards in New York. The station was named the Major Market Station of the Year, which incorporates all formats, not just the sports talk category. Dan Bennett oversees the Dallas market and the region. Jeff Catlin is the longtime Program Director. Catlin received the award on the station’s behalf.
The Ticket has won big awards before, previously being recognized as the Sports Station of the Year in 2007, 2013, 2017 and 2021. The Ticket was also nominated for Station of the Year in 2018 but not chosen as the winner.
The station features The Musers in morning drive from 5:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. with George Dunham, Craig Miller and Gordon Keith. The Invasion with Donovan Lewis and Matt McClearin airs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m followed by The Sweet Spot with Sean Bass and David Mino from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Afternoon drive is held down by The Hardline hosted by Bob Sturm, Corby Davidson and Dave Lane from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Other stations nominated for the award were WINS and WABC in New York, WTOP in Washington, D.C. and KNX in Los Angeles.
The Ticket launched in 1994 and is celebrating its 30th year in 2024. Cumulus Media purchased the station in 2006.
