Robb Reel, morning host at 96.1 KWS Charleston, WV, will be walking to WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital in Morgantown throughout October. This initiative aims to raise both funds and awareness for the hospital.
Reel is fulfilling a wager he made with listeners. He promised to walk the distance if they met the station’s radiothon objectives. The two cities involved are 157 miles apart.
“They did it. West Virginians, I’m not surprised, but boy am I humbled at the way folks came through and smashed last year’s totals,” Reel told WOWK-TV. “So, I respect folks enough that I’m going to keep my word. I owe it to folks who made the contributions to keep kids happy and healthy.”
