America’s Game of the Week was a big one for FOX Sports this past weekend. The Super Bowl rematch game drew an average audience 0f 27.076 viewers, making it the most watched telecast of the week on any network.
The Chiefs won the game 28-18 and improved to 6-0 on the season while the 49ers dropped to 3-4. It was a 14-12 game going into the fourth quarter when the Chiefs scored two touchdowns to put the game away.
The game was up 11% over the Week 7 game from last year which drew 24.379 million viewers. For the season, FOX Sports reports AGOTW is averaging 25.572 million viewers per game, an increase of 14% over last season.
FOX NFL Sunday averaged 4.52 million viewers, up 14% over last season.
For the season to date, the NFL on FOX is up 11 % over last season, averaging 18.898 million viewers per game. This is the best showing for the network since 2016 through seven weeks of the season.
This coming Sunday, the top NFL on FOX broadcast team of Kevin Burkhardt, Tom Brady, Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi will be in Seattle where the Seahawks will host the Buffalo Bills.
