La Mega Media Inc. is broadening its distribution in Cleveland and Columbus, enhancing its presence in those markets.

The Spanish Variety “Mega Cleveland” brand is set to return to radio for the first time in over four years. Beginning November 1, “Mega Cleveland” will be broadcast on 1300 WJMO. The station was previously available on 87.7 WLFM-LP from January 2014 until its closure as a Franken-FM in June 2020. Following that, it continued streaming online.

Currently, 1300 WJMO serves as the parent signal for Gospel station “Praise 94.5,” which will now receive its programming from 107.9 WENZ-HD2. With this move, WJMO will join Omega Media Broadcasting’s “Rumba 107.3”-HD2 in Cleveland’s Spanish media landscape.

In Columbus, Lazo Media’s “Mega 103.1” WVKO-FM in Johnstown has officially changed its call letters to WWLA. Beginning November 1, WWLA will simulcast its programming on Radio One’s 107.1 WJYD in Circleville, replacing the Gospel format of “Joy 107.1.”

This expansion aims to fill the void left by Radio One’s rimshot Regional Mexican station, “La Grande 102.5” WWLG in Baltimore, OH, as its temporary management agreement with Southeastern Ohio Broadcasting System concludes after four years.

WWLG has initiated a request to change its call letters to WKVR. The station is expected to be operated by the Educational Media Foundation as part of its Christian AC “K-Love” network.Mega
