NBC’s Sunday Night Football featured the San Francisco 49ers and the Dallas Cowboys this past week. San Francisco won the game 30-24 and the game drew an average audience of 23.9 million viewers across NBC, Peacock, and the digital platforms from NBC and the NFL. That ranks the game the most watched Week 8 SNF game on record. The numbers are based on the fast nationals from Nielsen and digital data from Adobe Analytics.
NBC Sports’ audience for the game peaked at 26.4 million viewers in the second quarter from 9:15 p.m. ET to 9:30 p.m. ET.
Not only is the Cowboys-49ers game SNF’s most-watched Week 8 game ever, but it also topped viewership for last year’s Week 8 game by 43%.
Overall, for the season, NBC Sunday Night Football is averaging 22.4 million viewers across all platforms – the series’ best average audience through Week 8 since 2015.
Sunday Night Football on NBC features Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth in the booth along with Melissa Stark on the sidelines. Next up for them is a matchup between Indianapolis and Minnesota, followed by what looks to be a really good matchup between Detroit and Houston on Nov. 10.
