Radio is mourning the passing of another long-time personality. Country K-104 Monroe, LA’s John Reynolds, has passed away at the age of 55.
On Facebook, K-104 announced the news posting, “John has been a member of our family and yours for 25 years now. We’ve laughed and cried with him. John loved fiercely; his spirit was bright, his heart was huge, and his personality was even bigger. We here at K-104 and the Radio People will continue to work hard to bring fun and music into your lives each day, and as we do, we will strive to honor John’s memory. We truly loved him, and none of us will ever be the same without him. Thank you for listening, and please remember John’s family and friends during this sad time.”
Reynolds, a veteran of the Navy who served during the first Gulf War, returned to Monroe to complete his college education. In 1998, he began his career at Country “K104” KJLO-FM as a newscaster and quickly advanced to the position of morning host.
He held this role until 2017, when he relocated to Key West, FL, to pursue acting. In 2019, Reynolds rejoined the company, taking on the dual responsibilities of co-hosting “The Morning Vacation” alongside Jim Elliot at Classic Hits “LA 105” KLIP-FM and serving as the midday host at KJLO-FM. He has also previously held the position of Program Director at KJLO.
