"I don't mind being lied to. I'm not trying to bury anybody if you gotta lie. I'm serious."

Indianapolis Colts QB Anthony Richardson is under fire for removing himself from a game Sunday because he was tired. FOX Sports Radio and FS1 host Colin Cowherd says the entire situation could have been avoided if the NFL star simply lied about the situation.

During The Herd with Colin Cowherd, a clip of Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons saying Richardson should have lied about his reasoning for exiting on his podcast was played as the host and Jason McIntyre discussed the situation.

That led Cowherd to say the NFL star couldn’t have been more correct.

“I completely agree,” said Cowherd. “I don’t mind being lied to. I’m not trying to bury anybody if you gotta lie. I’m serious. I have a right to ask you a question. You have a right to lie to me. I have a right to ask you any question I want, but you have a right to avoid the truth. I get it.”

When questioned on his stance by McIntyre, Cowherd doubled down on his take.

“What about the honesty?” McIntyre asked. “You don’t appreciate the candor? You don’t appreciate that?”

“Oh, get out of here. Listen, as they always say, the key to our business is being authentic,” Cowherd argued. “And once you can fake that, you’re in.”

McIntyre disagreed with Colin Cowherd, calling his approval of “fake authenticity” a “gross” comment.
