After more than three decades of hosting his popular talk show on WISN-AM 1130, Mark Belling has revealed that he’s transitioning to a podcast format at the end of 2024.
Since March of 1989, Belling has occupied the prime afternoon drive time spot on iHeartmedia’s Milwaukee talk radio station. From the start, Belling said he wanted his show to be “the best local radio talk show in America.” Now, after years of success and hard work, Belling believes he’s achieved that goal.
In a press release, Belling expressed his excitement for the future of spoken word programming. He said, “podcasting is the way of the future” in our on-demand world. He admires the success of podcast-exclusive shows like Joe Rogan, Megyn Kelly, and Tucker Carlson as proof of this statement. The full commentary from Belling regarding his move from radio to podcasting can be read here.
Belling assured his fans that he is not finished. In fact, he plans to continue podcasting from the same WISN-AM studios where his radio program was recorded. The content will still cover both local and national topics but with even more freedom and spontaneity.
The conservative political commentator also said he will remain with iHeartMedia as a podcast host. He has signed a new contract for the role. The plan is to deliver the podcast three times per week starting May 1, 2025.
Belling’s final show on WISN-AM 1130 will be on Monday December 30th. He doesn’t want any farewell or going-away events. Instead, he says the show will become bigger and better in its new form.
