FOX Sports Sees an Average of 15.81 Million Fans Tune in for the World Series Which is Best Since 2017

Across all networks, the 120th World Series dominated the television landscape with an average of 15,808,000 viewers, the best combined figure for the Fall Classic since 2017.

The Major League Baseball season came to an end this week after the Los Angeles Dodgers won the best of seven series over the New York Yankees 4-1. The final game saw FOX Sports average 18.6 million viewers across FOX, FOX Deportes and FOX Sports streaming platforms. This makes the game the most-watched Game 5 of the World Series since 2017.

On FOX, Game 5 delivered an average audience of 18.152 million viewers and peaked at 21.268 million from 11:15 p.m. ET to 11:30 PM ET. The Dodgers’ second World Series clinch in four years was up +58% over last year’s World Series Game 5 between the Texas Rangers and the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Across all networks, the 120th World Series dominated the television landscape with an average of 15,808,000 viewers, the best combined figure for the Fall Classic since 2017. Through five games on FOX alone, the World Series averaged 15,204,000 viewers, up +67% over last year’s five-game average.

The complete 2024 MLB Postseason on FOX and FS1 averaged 7,485,000 viewers, up +42% over last year’s average and FOX Sports’ best Postseason through Game 5 of the World Series since 2017.

FOX Sports notes the World Series was up 101% in the A18-34 demographic and up 92% in the A18-49 demographic.

All-in, the five-game series was the most-streamed Fall Classic in network history with a total AMA of 368,808. That figure is up 123% over last year and 59% from the previous all-time high in 2022.

Los Angeles, San Diego and New York led the local television markets, followed by Hartford, Las Vegas, Kansas City, Phoenix and St. Louis.
