Sports Spectrum, a platform for faith and sports, has announced former Chicago Bears star Matt Forte will be the new host of the Sports Spectrum Podcast beginning Nov. 5, 2024. Forte has a unique background as a leading NFL running back as well as a deep faith in Jesus, which he will bring to the podcast alongside current co-host Jason Romano.
Matt Forte is a two-time Pro Bowler and former Chicago Bears and New York Jets running back, who amassed nearly 10,000 rushing yards in his career, and became the Chicago Bears’ second all-time rushing leader behind Walter Payton. Forte was known for being tough and for boldly living out his faith on the field and in the locker room.
“I cannot wait to get started with Sports Spectrum,” Forte said. “The way they highlight Christ through the platform of sports aligns perfectly with my God-given purpose in life. I’m a child of God before anything else, so to be able to glorify the Lord in this way and share incredible sports stories and testimonies is the perfect combination for me.”
Co-host Jason Romano, a former ESPN Emmy-Award-winning sports producer who worked on SportsCenter, in addition to NFL LIVE, College Gameday, and more, is the creator of the Sports Spectrum Podcast. Romano will join Forte every episode as the pair discusses issues relevant to faith, sports, and culture.
“Matt is such a great addition to the Sports Spectrum team,” Romano said. “He’s so strong in his faith, and I’m really excited for our listeners and viewers to not only hear his wisdom but experience how he converses with athletes so well. This show is only getting better with Matt on our team.”
The Sports Spectrum Podcast focuses on discussions at the intersection of sports and faith. Additionally, it has featured guests like Kirk Cousins, Jennie Finch, C.J. Stroud, Joe Mazzulla, Tony Dungy, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Brock Purdy, and more.
